Recruitment Coordinator
Children of our Future Foundation
7534 Alexandria Avenue
Sacramento, CA 86747

Dear Mr. Lopez,

I am interested in the opportunity to volunteer with the Children of our Future Foundation. I have over 4 years of experience assisting children with their education. In those years, I have gained the knowledge of techniques and skills necessary in working with them, which is essential in fostering educational growth. (Indicate your interest to volunteer and briefly describe facts regarding your experience.)

My passion for volunteering to help children began during my high school years, while working to fulfill my community service hours. With having a requirement of 100 hours over the course of 4 years, I chose to volunteer at the Pine Tree Elementary School as an after school tutor for first and second graders. The job taught me not only to have patience, but to also think outside of the box. I was able to develop my creativity in presenting lessons in a way that caters to each student’s learning abilities, which thus helped them to understand the material better. (Expand on your previous experience in volunteering, informing the reader about the volunteer site, your volunteer work, and what you gained from your involvement.)

As a college student there are no required community service hours, but the issue of lacking teachers in underprivileged communities, due to underfunding or an absence of resources, still persists. Accepting me as a volunteer would relieve economic expenses while simultaneously benefitting the children. (Explain the reasons you wish to volunteer and how they will benefit from having you.)

I would like to continue to lend my helping hands to several places to achieve the ultimate goal of giving all children an equal chance of having successful futures despite their economic circumstances. I believe I am an appropriate candidate given my experience as well as the drive to achieve better outcomes for them. I would like the opportunity to meet with you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me by phone at (555) 555-5555 or by email at tkerner@childrenfirst.com. (Give contact information.)

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to speaking with you. (Express gratitude for their time.)
